Health care professionals have undertaken an incredible toll since the onset of the pandemic due to high stress, long hours and compassion fatigue. Our one-of-a-kind program focuses on mindfulness and self compassion to help prevent burnout, reduce stress and increase effectiveness of care.
During this experiential 1.5-hour Equine Assisted Learning session, participants will utilize activities surrounding horses and include the herd in their exploration and understanding of their personal self-worth.
The experiential approach of equine therapy requires participants to take an active role in how they use certain skills for those they protect; enhances better awareness while doing their job; teaches mindfulness and grounding techniques; and encourages taking care of themselves emotionally while on the job to prevent burnout.
This one-of-a-kind program utilizes both the internationally recognized EAGALA modality of equine assisted therapy and learning and the Natural Lifemanship modality of trauma informed equine assisted therapy.
Wellness programs are offered at little cost to participants.

Horses help facilitate an understanding of ourselves in a parenting role by accepting, challenging, and teaching us about our own interactive selves. The often unexpected responses of different Equine personalities allow insight and learning about how individuals handle the down and dirty job of becoming the best parent they can be. Exercises are designed to promote healthy boundaries, communication, trust of self and others, self awareness, and putting behavior into action. Level 1 begins with an introduction and practice of each skill through equine assisted activities. Level 2 builds upon the skills learned and practiced in Level 1 while continuing to build a relationship with the horse that mirrors a healthy parent-child relationship, utilizing the Natural Lifemanship modality. Level 3 builds upon the relationship formed in Level 2 with more advanced skill and trust building with an optional riding component.
